Position
Description & Qualifications

Service
Technician

Installs, analyzes, and services building automation systems at premier customer facilities in the New York metropolitan area. Tasks performed include performing maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, software modifications, database protection, implementing system enhancements, training, and consultation; maintaining relations between the customer and the organization on all technical matters. Verifying control system operations on a day to day basis and integrating that with customer and energy needs.

Desired Skills:

Good candidates will posses many of the skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • An engineering or 2-year technical degree minimum. Experience in the field or in a related area will be considered for higher levels.
  • Knowledgeable in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC industry.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, Air Handling units, heat exchangers, Chillers and more.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in this field.
  • Able to use Windows based software tools with programming experience.
  • Able to use standard Building Management User Interface features like trending and scheduling.
  • Able to read blueprints, engineering documents and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiar with HVAC and electrical control systems and associated documentation.
  • Experience with open protocols like LonWorks and BACnet.
  • Knowledge in American Auto-Matrix or Honeywell DDC product lines is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Able to use a ladder and lift loads of 35lbs.
  • Available for on site emergency service calls after normal business hours.
  • Ability to travel with tool bag and laptop to customer sites in NYC, Westchester, Long Island and New Jersey


Senior
Technician
/Engineer

We are always looking for talented people with 5+ years experience and strong B.A.S. skills. The experienced individual shall posses proven customer relation, troubleshooting, networking and communication skills. They will also have:

  • The ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form to technical and non-technical people.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
  • Responsibility as a self-motivated team member, with a passion for technology, and both mentored and independent learning.
  • A great understanding of Heating, Ventilating and Air conditioning systems theory of operation and design.
  • Working experience in the control of chiller plants, cooling towers, large air systems, refrigeration basics and more.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Experienced in the following systems a plus:
    • Honeywell 5000
    • American Auto Matrix
    • Lon Works systems
    • Allen Bradley PLC
    • B.A.S. network communications interfaces (gateways)
  • Local Area Network and Fiber network design.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems a plus.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years designing Automated Building Systems.
  • Experienced in the following systems a plus:
    • Honeywell 5000
    • American Auto Matrix
    • Lon Works systems
    • Allen Bradley PLC
  • Local Area Network and Fiber network design.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems a plus.
  • Detail oriented and having good organizational skills.
  • Communicates effectively with the general or mechanical contractor, consultants, architect engineers and other sub-contractors as required.
  • Able to read/interpret mechanical and electrical plans and specifications.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities:

  • Completes engineering to engineering team standards. Makes use of existing systems library to ensure job is engineered with maximum efficiency.
  • Accountable to field personnel for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs.
  • Coordinates preparation of project submittal package for customer or owner through engineering. Reviews project submission package.
  • Prepares layout and installation drawings from HVAC mechanical and electrical plans and specifications.
    • Air/Water Flow diagrams
    • Electrical or Pneumatic point to point control drawings
    • Sequence of Operations
    • Bill of Materials for field and panel devices
  • Generate an Automatic Temperature Valve schedule for all equipment.
  • Field site visits to assist Project Managers and the Service Dept. when there is engineering requirements.
  • Generate electrical bid documents for electrical subcontractors.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.



Compensation is based on skill set and experience.
